Futher details:
Invervar is a delightful, modernised cottage which combines the attractions of an old cottage with the standards and facilities of a modern house. There
is an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the dining room. Situated in the beautiful Glen Lyon it seams remote but is actually within
10 minutes drive of the local shop, in a very picturesque village, 15 minutes by car from a place to eat out and just under 2 hours by road from
Edinburgh airport. As can be seen from the photographs, Invervar Cottage is located amongst woods and mountains in an area widely held to be one
of the most scenic in Scotland. The cottage has everything you could wish for in a beautiful location, a traditional cottage and yet with all the
'mod cons' of a modern life-style.
For walkers:
It is a hillwalker's dream since it is sorrounded by Munros (Scottish mountains over 3,000 feet high). One has to do no more than walk up the garden, cross
a style and you are into woods and on your way to one of the best known ridge walks in Scotland with outstanding views back into Glen Lyon as well as
down into neighbouring Loch Rannoch. This walk can be beautiful in both summer and winter and the owner has stayed for long periods in Invervar
Cottage and has walked extensively in the area in all seasons. The highest mountain in Pethshire - Ben Lawers, which is owned by the National Trust for
Scotland and is famed for its alpine plants - can be climbed directly from the cottage - it has been by its owner who personally responsible for much of
the work done to modernise the cottage. The owner bought Invervar Cottage nearly a decade and a half ago and, as its standards shows, it is more a
much-loved hideaway than simply a commercial asset.
Whether you want a 'holiday away from it all' (but with all 'mod cons') or an outstanding cottage in a beautiful part of Scotland from which to go hillwalking
or a peaceful base from which to drive to the main parts of Scotland then Invervar Cottage if for you.
